Susan Johnson, CISR – Office Manager
Sue has been with NIA since 1985. Prior to that she spent ten years in the financial sector with Independent Bank. She is licensed with the State of Michigan for Property & Casualty Insurance as well as Life & Health Insurance. Sue also holds her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) designation. She resides north of Newaygo and enjoys scuba diving as well as walleye fishing in Canada.

Holly Clouse – Personal Lines CSR
Holly joined NIA in early 2008 bringing with her a 14 year career in insurance. She earned an associates degree in Business Administration and is licensed with the State of Michigan for Property & Casualty Insurance as well as having her Life & Health Insurance License. Holly is also working towards her CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative). She resides east of Newaygo with her husband and two children.

Marcy Johnson – Personal Lines CSR
Marcy graduated from Cornerstone University with a BA in Business Administration. She has been a part of NIA since 2009 and is working towards her State of Michigan Licensing for Property & Casualty. Prior to joining the agency she was previously employed by the Greater Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. She resides between Newaygo and Fremont.

Kathy Swart - Commercial Lines CSR
Kathy has been with NIA since 1988. Prior to joining the agency she was a Commercial lines Underwriter with Citizens Insurance Company. She has been in the insurance industry since 1972. Kathy resides east of Newaygo and enjoys gardening and riding motorcycle with her husband.

Teresa Steenhagen, CISR - Commercial Lines CSR
Teresa came to Newaygo Insurance Agency in early 2010. She joined NIA with 20 years of insurance experience ranging from Hartford and Lake States Insurance Companies to many years in an agency. In 2001, after several years of classes, Teresa earned her Certification as a Customer Service Reprentative in the insurance industry. Teresa has her Property & Casualty Insurance License through the State of Michigan. She resides south of Newaygo with her husband and two children.

Bob Johnson - Principal
Bob graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Business Administration. He bought NIA in 1978. Bob has obtained his Life & Health Insurance License as well as Property & Casualty Insurance License. In 1997 he earned a CIC (certified insurance counselor) designation. Bob plays an active role in the community having served on boards for the Fremont Area Community Foundation, Gerber Memorial Hospital, Newaygo County Economic Development Organization, Mercy Housing Corporation and the Newaygo County Community Services.

Dan Johnson - Principal
Dan graduated from Cornerstone University with a degree in Business Administration. He joined the agency as a partner in 2006. Dan obtained his Life & Health Insurance License as well as Property & Casualty Insurance License. Prior to joining NIA, Dan spent 11 years with Novartis as a key account manager in their marketing and sales division. He and his wife and three daughters are active in their local church. Dan coaches a youth soccer team and operates a small, beef farm.
